Department Overview
Electric Operations ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
The Quality Management organization made up of over 300 coworkers and contractors helps ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to approximately 16 million people throughout a 70,000 square-mile service area in northern and central California. The organization is accountable for the company's program to underground 10,000 miles of electric distribution lines to reduce wildfire risk, the System Inspection Program to identify potential risks to the safety and reliability of the system, Maintenance & Construction Program to ensure safe and reliable delivery of electricity. The Quality Management Planning & Improvement team supports the organization to meet or exceed established operational targets, including compliance requirements, KPIs, budget, and risk reduction strategies that support the company’s Purpose, Virtutes and Stands.
Position Summary
The Manager, Performance & Analytics leads a team of professional employees and contractors dedicated to Quality Management Planning & Improvement (P&I) Operations. This team is responsible for managing performance and driving continuous process improvement. Collaborating with management teams within the QM Planning & Improvement Execution to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with best practices across Electric Operations. Overseeing project governance for key deliverables that provide a comprehensive view of QM Planning & Improvement (P&I) Operations performance and efficiencies, including: Performance Reporting, Performance Analytics, Continuous Process Improvement.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. The location is flexible but must be able to travel to Dublin or San Ramon occasionally.
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area – $128,000 - $190,300

California - $122,000 - $190,300
Job Responsibilities
- Drives continuous process improvement (CPI), ensuring leadership buy-in. Regularly meets with leaders to identify and advise on initiative prioritization, integration, and resource application. Follows Lean Six Sigma methodology. Ensures all analysis is complete to support the recommended solution and that a sound change management plan is in place.
- Coaches team on process improvement initiatives through the disciplined use of measurements, accountability, analysis, and discussion of process alternatives in order to arrive at best practices. Ensures the completion of reviews, studies, and analysis. Supports, coaches team conducting benchmarking and best practice studies as part of team projects and Lean Six Sigma methodology. Participates in process re-engineering.
- Organizes findings from team and develops recommendations for leadership. Facilitates discussions and agreements among managers and product owners. Develops the structure, process and governance for review and assessment of process improvement recommendations.
- Leads team to analyze and track performance in Quality Management P&I Operations (trends, drivers, opportunities). Focuses on analysis to improve productivity, service levels and improve safety and lower costs. Analyzes actual versus planned operations and conducts root cause analyses to understand drivers of variance.
- Prepares regular performance scorecard reports for Quality Management P&I Operations management showing high level trends, performance on initiatives along with variance explanation.
- Regularly presents to senior leaders on performance analytics and process improvement recommendations.
- Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years or 6 years with a Masters’ degree, increasingly responsible business experience which includes developing performance metrics and/or in benchmarking activities.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of working time.
