Department Overview

Electric Operations ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.

 

The Quality Management organization made up of over 300 coworkers and contractors helps ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to approximately 16 million people throughout a 70,000 square-mile service area in northern and central California. The organization is accountable for the company's program to underground 10,000 miles of electric distribution lines to reduce wildfire risk, the System Inspection Program to identify potential risks to the safety and reliability of the system, Maintenance & Construction Program to ensure safe and reliable delivery of electricity. The Quality Management Planning & Improvement team supports the organization to meet or exceed established operational targets, including compliance requirements, KPIs, budget, and risk reduction strategies that support the company’s Purpose, Virtutes and Stands.

 

Position Summary

The mission of the Quality Management P&I Data Management Program is to  ensure robust governance and oversight of EO Quality Management data management activities. By enhancing the accessibility, quality, and use of data, the program empowers business units to make informed, data-driven decisions and strengthens analytical capabilities across the organization. This commitment supports PG&E’s goals for operational excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. The location is flexible but must be able to travel to Dublin or San Ramon occasionally.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Bay Area –  $129,000 - $184,800

California - $160,000 - $176,000        

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Implements short-term strategies and initiatives to enhance data management maturity, supporting broader company objectives.
  • Translates business requirements into actionable data management initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Drives the execution of foundational data maturity activities identified in the Quality Management Data Management program’s strategy.
  • Manages and delivers data quality improvement initiatives that enable risk-informed, data-driven decision-making.
  • Communicates updates and developments related to data governance, management, and integrity to enhance the company’s data literacy.
  • Reviews regular reporting and status updates to cross-functional leadership to ensure leaders are kept informed of project status, issues, and risk.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships within Internal client groups to understand business requirements, resolve issues, and improve customer outcomes.
  • Identifies, defines, and escalates issues related to data security, data access, data ownership, and data governance policy, standards, and procedures. Ensures data-related issues and risks are appropriately surfaced and resolved.
  • Manages and supports a team by organizing, scheduling, and facilitating working groups or communities of practice. 

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or job-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Job-related experience, 8 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Leadership experience, 3 years
  • Deep knowledge of practices and tools used for data governance, data management, and data quality.
  • Ability to collaborate and organize groups of people across lines of business to focus on data management outcomes.
  • Engages in necessary productive conflict to achieve results for a broad set of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage program risk and cost, adapting to unexpected events.
  • Ability to translate between data management and business principles.
