Department Overview

Electric Operations (EO) ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electrical services to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.  

 

Electric Operations Construction Management is responsible for the construction, project and contract management of PG&E’s electric distribution overhead and underground facilities. 

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to supervise our Central Reporting team, which plays a critical role in managing reporting for electric capital construction and maintenance projects across our service territory. This team includes Data Analysts, Data Engineers, BI Developers, DBAs, and Visualization Designers.

 

As Supervisor, you will lead the centralization and oversight of data and reporting functions across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain scalable reporting systems that ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of information. You will champion data governance with best practices and drive the development of unified reporting frameworks that support timely, informed decision-making. 

 

This role is pivotal in enhancing organizational affordability, reducing redundancy, and maximizing the value of our data assets. You will collaborate cross-functionally to align reporting efforts with strategic goals and ensure that data insights are actionable and impactful.

 

Disclosure:

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. 

 

The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

 Pay Range:

  • Annual Minimum:   $144,00
  • Annual Midpoint:    $194,00
  • Annual Maximum:   $244,00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop analytics and reporting to provide insights into organizational progress and obstacles. Manages operational reviews and presentations. Keeps abreast of best practices in project management concepts, methods, and Lean reporting techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce reporting standards, governance policies, and best practices. Ensure data is structured and stored efficiently to enable scalable and user-friendly reporting solutions.
  • Monitor data quality and integrity across systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively. Support strategic decision-making by delivering reliable, actionable insights through standardized reporting.
  • Manage and mentor staff involved in data reporting and analytics, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement tools and technologies that enhance data accessibility, reporting speed, and affordability. Provide regular updates and recommendations to leadership on reporting strategy, performance metrics, and improvement opportunities.
  • Supervises 5-15 direct reports which may include Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence (BI) Developers, Database Administrators (DBAs), and Visualization Designers. May supervise union or non-union employees.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Finance or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  •    Six (6) years’ total relevant experience in: 
  • technical project/portfolio reporting, and/or
  • program management in the utility industry, and/or
  • business management in the utility industry

OR

  • Three (3) years supervisory experience of program management, engineering and/or development of robust reporting tools.
  • Regular travel required throughout the assigned region or service territory.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of electric and gas distribution facilities and construction.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
