Department Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

 

Position Summary

This position will report to the Supervisor of Contract Administration.  The contract administrator oversees contract safety compliance specifications.  Manages multiple contracts. Audits invoices and completes contract close out processes.   Develops functional expertise across multiple lines of business to support contract pricing strategies and technical review.  May participation in contract escalation and resolution processes. Manages contracts and ensures contract compliance..

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Audits invoices
  • Solves moderate to complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions
  • May manage projects or initiatives
  • Ensures contracting activities are in compliance with PG&E, industry standards and practices and in accordance with IBEW and ESC provisions.
  • Audits vendor invoices.
  • Manages contractor relationships
  • Proactively mentors Diverse Suppliers (WMDVBEs) to increase participation and success in providing services to PG&E.
  • Identifies Diverse Suppliers
  • Manages multiple contracts at one time.
  • Work independently at times with minimal direction.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Experience in construction, or related, 4 years
  • Experience in contract administration and negotiations

 

Desired:

  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • BS degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrates experience using databases
  • Basic office management skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Understanding of construction terminology
