Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
This position is part of the Gas Distribution Operations Business Analysis team which is responsible for providing accessible, timely and actionable operational, financial and compliance insights through reports, dashboards and/or presentations and leading or supporting process improvement initiatives to meet Company and organizational objectives.
Position Summary
Business Analysts are responsible for research, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting in support of business decision making, business strategy and business operations. May also be involved in dashboard management and development, business process improvement, quality control and other special projects.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned location, subject to change per business needs.
This position is flexible within the Bay Area. Headquarters will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 98,000.00
Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 134,200.00
Job Responsibilities
- Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data from various systems including but not limited to SAP and SAP Analysis for Office.
- Develops new or revises existing data analysis to predict business outcomes selecting from various complex variables.
- Develops and uses metrics to develop recommendations related to business strategy and operations. Presents findings and recommendations to leaders.
- Manages small to mid-size projects.
- Execute processes to ensure appropriate project cost allocation.
- Provides training to less experienced team members.
- May serve as administrator and/or develop Power BI or Tableau dashboards
- May serve as administrator and/or develop Power BI or Tableau dashboards.
- Travel within the service territory up to 20% of the time
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related
- 4 years of related work experience
Desired
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 Power Platform products, including Power BI.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint Administration.
- Experience with various data platforms such as Snowflake and Foundry.
- Understanding of PG&E operations, order and notification management requirements.
- Broad knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches and tactics.
- Advanced understanding of fundamental analysis and what-if modeling concepts, methods and techniques and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes.
- Creative problem skills to develop solutions.
- Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to justify any business changes.
- Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management.
