Position Summary

The DCPP Training department support DCPP’s mission by ensuring our coworkers have the right training when they need it to generate excellence.  We apply training tools and techniques that have proven effective at DCPP and beyond, and regularly seek to apply improvements that have been demonstrated effective and efficient in both the educational and nuclear industries.

DCPP Training Department is looking for talented summer interns to help support the development and implementation of innovative training initiatives, including thoughtful application of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality to help make our staff the best trained and most effective in the nuclear industry.

 

Responsibilities

  • Investigate the application of Artificial Intelligence in multiple disciplines to improve effectiveness and efficiency of training at DCPP.
  • Coordination of video training material, including videography, editing, scheduling, etc.
  • Application of computer skills to implement processes for website development, training plan development, test item analysis, streamlining evaluation processes, and performance measurement tools.
  • Coordination of classroom modernization.

 

The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with experienced nuclear educators.  Additionally, the intern will gain insight and knowledge of the larger DCPP organization through the work they will be performing.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

 

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $22.77 to $36.42.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field at an accredited University
  • Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship

Desired:

  • EIT or FE certification
  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Computer Science experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or consultation
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
