Department Overview

 

Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our over 900 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and more than 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E’s successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.​​​​​​​ 

 

Position Summary

 

The Compliance Data Analyst extracts compliance data for analysis, leadership support and responses to ad hoc data requests. The incumbent maintains compliance documents, templates, records, tools, databases and enterprise compliance systems ensuring they are kept up-to-date using data from various PG&E systems and regulatory sources.

 

 

The Analyst identifies and solves current gaps in compliance data requirements and ease of access and identifies opportunities to design and implement improved compliance data practices.

 

 

This role also designs and continuously improves standardized and automated compliance and performance data practices that support governance execution, audit readiness, and leadership decision-making across Power Generation. The Analyst administers the Power Generation Risk & Compliance Committee operating cadence, monthly meeting coordination, and presenter prep.

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manages data management projects from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.
  • DATA PROCESSING: Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
  • DATA EXTRACTS AND FILE TRANSFERS: Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.
  • REPORTING: Develops and communicates clear, concise and actionable reports for leadership

 

 

 

Position duties may include but are not limited to; 

 

 

  • Designs, administers, and continuously improves standardized and automated compliance and performance data practices supporting governance execution, audit readiness, and leadership decision-making.
  • Administers the PGen Risk & Compliance Committee (RCC) operating cadence including monthly meeting material preparation and presenter coordination; coordinates audit readiness and evidence support; develops and maintains evidence-readiness guidance.
  • Maintains enterprise compliance records and required reporting inputs; tracks Corrective Action Plan (CAP) execution status; administers the compliance requirements and controls dataset.
  • Establishes standardized data collection, validation, and reporting across Power Generation work groups; manages extracts and queries across multiple systems (including SAP) with validation and reconciliation controls; designs and refines integrated data collection and reporting processes; and supports cross-training to enable effective data and reporting support for the PGen Regulatory Correspondence team.

 

 

Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory (there is preference for an Oakland headquarter base), please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.

 

 

Position will require approximately 5% travel time in work schedule (as needed basis).

 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (preference for an Oakland headquarter base). 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum: $​90,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​136,000

 

OR​

 

California Minimum: $​86,000

California Maximum: $129,000

 

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage standard, routine data analysis projects with limited supervision from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.
  • Work with other Compliance Management Analysts to process data, analyze data and report findings. Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
  • Manages standard data extracts and list pulls ensuring accurate data. Transfers the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.
  • Demonstrates full understanding of data processing and analysis techniques. Analyzes data using various statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.
  • Develops and communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients.

 

Qualifications-

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of related work experience

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in working file labeling and organizing systems
  • Familiarity with hydropower utility operations and Dam Safety regulatory compliance entities.
  • 10+ years of experience in public utility, legal, regulatory or business environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and  PDF tools
  • Experience supporting FERC, DSOD and other regulatory agency correspondence eFiling processes
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and effectively communicate findings.
