The Energy Policy and Procurement (EPP) organizationprocures a reliable supply to meet the electricity and gas demands of our customers 24 hours a day. We reduce customer costs and attain stable prices through contracting and financial hedging instruments and in doing so, maintain a focus on sustainability bysupporting environmentally-preferred resources.
The Clean Energy Policy and Analysis (CEPA) Department in Energy Procurement is responsible for developing PG&E’s integrated strategy for meeting and exceeding the clean energy policy objectives of thestate of California. With respect to strategy issues, CEPA team members are responsible for modeling PG&E’s renewable energy portfolio and developing PG&E’s clean energy procurement strategy. With respect to policy issues, CEPA team members developregulatory policy analysis to inform PG&E’s clean energy procurement strategy and for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Team members actively participate in the development of these policies and strategies before the California Public UtilitiesCommission, California Energy Commission, and State Legislature. We also partner with multiple stakeholders within PG&E on energy procurement policy, planning, and commercial matters.
The successful candidate will activelyparticipate in analysis to shape company policy on clean energy issues and in the formulation and execution of the company’s strategy to procure clean energy for PG&E’s energy supply portfolio. This will involve managing quantitative analysis of PG&E’srenewables contracts and forecasts, and conducting analyses of the company’s clean energy portfolio and market data. This will also involve supporting the Policy team in analyzing clean energy-related state and federal legislative and policy proposals and mandates,developing reports and other written materials supporting PG&E’s proposals, project-managing various initiatives, and coordinating with many other organizations within the company on contract management, portfolio analysis, and renewable and clean energyresource issues.
Minimum Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, finance, business, energy/environment, engineering, or related fields *1 years of relevant work experience
Education and Experience: *3+ years of work experience in a related field *Relevant advanced degree

Quantitative Analysis: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing one or more models of PG&E’s renewables portfolio. Management of the models involves statistical analysis of historical information, forecasting,and conducting sensitivity analyses.
Reporting: The successful candidate will support internal and external reporting efforts and assist policy formulation through the development of tools, processes, and documents that capture clean energy activities.For example, this individual will assist with the development and issuance of the team’s monthly renewable reporting products for internal stakeholders. Other efforts may range from assisting information gathering efforts to leveraging data towards developingstrategic and other communication pieces. Exceptionally strong attention to detail is required.
Clean Energy Procurement Strategy Development: A primary role of this organization is to analyze and present information to support decision making and thedevelopment of a robust clean energy commercial strategy. The successful candidate will assist commercial, regulatory and policy team members on all aspects of this strategy development. Activities and responsibilities may range from developing and maintaining toolsused to assess PG&E’s expected deliveries from its renewables portfolio, analyzing technology trends, performing renewables industry and market research using internal and external sources, and preparing supporting documents and presentations for seniormanagement and regulators.
Additional Project Support and Management: The position will require flexibility and a willingness to assist on a variety of projects and functional roles within those projects. For instance, the successful candidate may becalled upon to provide technical and analytical support on energy procurement strategy and planning matters on an as needed basis, and support in creating materials to present results to directors, managers and peers.
