The men and women of Electric Operations ensure thedelivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E’s electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management,business planning, restoration and emergency response.
The Electric Transmission Maintenance Supervisor leads teams of employees in maintaining and building the service territory transmission lines or substations. The MaintenanceSupervisor provides safe and reliable electric service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission General Orders, all safety regulations and other regulatory requirements. Implements best safety practices and holds subordinatesaccountable for adhering to established practices.
* High School Diploma or GED * Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a team of union-represented employees * Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience * Must obtain a California Driver’s License by first day of employment
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products – for example Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access – as needed to perform at the job level * Competency inproviding direction, delegating, and removing obstacles to get work done * Ability to apply project management theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
*Schedules all work to minimize impact to end use customers and revenue. * Attends walk downs with first line supervisors planners, sub foremen, and construction engineers in order to understand the components of the facility. * Reviews current workpractices for operational efficiencies and deficiencies. * Builds and maintains strong relationships with business units and external agencies. * Provides effective leadership, coaching and development of employees through the goal setting and performanceevaluation process, development planning process, and providing frequent open and honest feedback. * Monitors and analyzes ongoing projects and work efforts to ensure project is completed on-time and on-budget. * Takes action on Notice of Violation (NOV),Notice to Comply (NOC), and environmental compliance. * Updates, modifies, and maintains work procedures and standards. * Leads the effort to identify, analyze and improve existing business processes within a department to meet new goals and objectives. * Prepares for emergency situations, and resolves issues quickly and efficiently using the correct resources. * Ensures compliance with CPUC, OSHA, CAISO, NERC, WECC, NERC or other regulations. * Identifies the developmental needs of others, and coachesand mentors others to improve their knowledge or skills.
