Safety and Shared Services provide the essential oversight and activities that enable PG&E operating units to succeed. We help set the benchmark for excellence in safety, efficiency and customer service, with strategies and initiatives that are tightly aligned to the business needs of our internal clients.

Safety and Shared Services provides mission critical services through five primary functional areas at PG&E:

Supply Chain

PG&E’s Supply Chain organization oversees more than $4 billion in goods and services spending each year, with 33 percent of all expenditures going through diverse suppliers.

Transportation Services

Our team maintains and manages a fleet of more than 12,000 vehicles and equipment, including the largest green-powered utility fleet in the nation.

Corporate Real Estate Strategy & Services

This group at PG&E is responsible for a real estate portfolio that encompasses 7 million square feet of office and supply space.

Environmental

The Environmental team supports compliance, conducts proactive remediation, secures project permits, and manages our land holdings. PG&E is one of the largest land owners in the state of California.

Safety

This group is critical to fulfilling our commitment to public, employee and contractor safety and compliance in the areas of Gas, Electric, Energy Supply, and Field Operations.

Opportunities in Safety & Shared Services at PG&E may include:

  • Safety Specialists
    Safety Specialists work with all PG&E utility departments to detect, prevent, audit, and mitigate safety and health risks. Candidates must have previous hands-on experience in occupational and/or public safety.
  • Terrestrial Biologists
    Terrestrial Biologists participate on interdisciplinary teams conducting biological studies in support of PG&E utility operations and construction projects. Candidates must have a technical focus on wildlife biology or botany, along with knowledge of applicable local standards, ordinances, state, and federal laws.
  • Environmental (Land) Planners
    Land Planners provide environmental and land support for the construction, operation, and maintenance of PG&E facilities, including permitting, regulatory compliance, impact studies and related activities. Candidates must have land management experience, preferably with a large utility or industrial company.
